Before You Call

What to have in mind.

A brief, focused conversation is usually enough to identify the structure under consideration, the timing that matters, and the appropriate next step. Two things help most — the transaction itself (an acquisition, a full or partial sale, a partner buyout, or another change in ownership or control, and where the discussion stands), and the timing (whether a letter of intent has been signed, whether financing is contemplated, and what the parties expect next).
